Job Description:

Being an employee of the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) in Ethiopia the Finance Coordinator is expected to represent NRC in a responsible manner and always act in accordance with NRC’s Code of Conduct.

Job description

  • These responsibilities shall be the same for all positions with the same title. The responsibilities shall be short and essential. Details belong in the Work and Development plan.
  • 1. Implement NRC’s systems and procedures at area level
  • 2. Ensure adherence to NRC policies, handbooks, guidelines and donor requirements
  • 3. Prepare and submit reports and analysis (Assist the fiancé manager in reviewing and consolidating all grant management reports)
  • 4. Ensure proper filing of all support documents
  • 5. Support line managers/Coordinators in budget preparation, monitoring and financial procedures and require support team trainings
  • 6. Management of finance team
  • 7. Member of Area Management Team (AMT)
  • 8. Ensure that the accounting, monitoring and reporting are according to procedures
  • 9. Support project staff in financial matters
  • 10. Maintain budget control and monitor cash flow for the area
  • 11. Ensure development and implementation of financial systems and procedures


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Finance or Accounting
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience
  • At least 2 years of INGO experience is a plus
