Job Description:

We are looking for an organised and ambitious individual to join us as Prospect Development Officer and contribute to a high performing, agile and proactive prospect development function which maximizes the value of our Major Gift income streams.

As Prospect Development Officer you will identify and research prospects and donors for the Philanthropy and Partnerships department, enabling them to approach and develop new business opportunities in order to increase income and impact for Save the Children. In addition you will:

  • Support the Prospect Development Team through the qualification of new prospects and research of existing and prospective donors
  • Conduct daily media scanning for information on our existing and prospective donors, contributing to and producing the team’s various newsletters
  • Support the identification of new high value donors for the organization as agreed within our strategy
  • Produce biographies on key individuals for Save the Children high value events
  • Undertake bespoke research projects, from start to finish.

To be successful you will have experience of prospect development or fundraising in a charity, university or consultancy environment with a basic understanding of Data Protection legislation and how this impacts Prospect Development. With excellent organisational and time management skills, you will be able to work on your own initiative with minimal supervision. In addition you will have:

  • Experience of retrieving information quickly and accurately using a variety of sources
  • Good written communication skills with experience of producing accurate written documents in a timely manner
  • Experience of using a CRM database and experience of accurate data entry
  • Good analytical skills with the ability to identify key points from complex materials and sources
  • Professional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to develop internal relationships, and identify cross team opportunities.
