|Job Title:||Senior Global Auditor|
|Employer:||Save the Children|
|Job Location:||West End, United Kingdom|
Save the Children is the world's leading independent organisation for children. We work in 120 countries. We save children's lives; we fight for their rights; we help them fulfil their potential.
We work together, with our partners, to inspire breakthroughs in the way the world treats children and to achieve immediate and lasting change in their lives.
We have over two million supporters worldwide and raised 1.9 billion dollars last year to reach more children than ever before, through programmes in health, nutrition, education, protection and child rights, also in times of humanitarian crises.
Following a major transition, our international programmes are now delivered through a merged operation with c15, 000 staff, managed through seven regional hubs and reporting to a relatively small, central office. We're changing to become more efficient, more aligned, a better partner, a stronger advocate, a magnet for world-class people and relevant for the 21st century.
The Global Assurance (GA) function supports the Board of Save the Children International and its management by evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of the governance, risk management, control and oversight systems in place. Truly global in its structure, the GA team is based across three hubs: London, Nairobi, and Manila.
Working as a key member of the London hub, you will be expected to confidently and capably lead on high quality, outcomes-focussed internal audit assignments, reviews, investigations and other work assigned to you to meet agreed professional standards and stakeholder expectations.
You will produce high quality, value-adding audit reports in English that are clear, concise, timely and solutions-driven. Leading by example, you will also maintain strong professional relationships across the organisation, working in partnership with your team and across the business, ensuring you are up-to-date with changes and events that have a significant impact on the risk profile of actual, as well as potential, assignments. The Senior Global Auditor will also contribute to the development and implementation of any Global Assurance improvement plans.
What you will bring to Save the Children
This is an interesting opportunity for an auditor with a passion for our cause, and a proven track record of conducting risk-based reviews of systems and processes, of identifying weaknesses and areas of improvements. You will have a demonstrable ability to focus on key issues, enabling auditees to focus on crucial matters of control and oversight. An exceptional communicator, you will be able to articulate effectively at all levels of the business and will have the ability to deliver difficult messages with tact and confidence. You should also be a reliable team leader, with a strong orientation for results, and the ability to challenge existing mind-sets.
You will need to be a qualified auditor with experience of internal audit. Experience in relevant operational areas (e.g. in a programme/project management in an INGO context) would be advantageous but otherwise a strong interest in the sector is essential.
This role will also involve a considerable amount of travel overseas, and working with minimum supervision under difficult conditions in some of the most underdeveloped, insecure and remote parts of the world. You'll have a strong cultural awareness and be able to work well in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
We need to keep children safe so our selection process reflects our commitment to the protection of children from abuse.
Please apply in English using your CV and covering letter as a single document, including your salary expectations for this role.
