Purpose of position:

 

This position plays a critical role ensuring that the risk assessment tool MWRAP (Ministry Wide Risk Assessment Project), is managed end-to-end through planning, gathering data, managing time frames, coordinating with the subject matter experts of the respective function/area to keep the risk assessment tool up-to-date.

 

The position will be accountable for gathering data, annually required, to be used in the risk model for planning audit engagements, developing the audit plan in coordination with Support Office CEOs, National Directors and other Partnership Leaders, allocating resources for audits, communicating the plan with all stakeholders, tracking time and managing any changes to plan effectively. preparing monthly report on the progress against the audit plan.

 

The position will be responsible for ensuring that the audit reports are submitted by the auditors and issued to the stakeholders in time in coordination with Lead Auditor for the assignment, WV Legal, external company (Simon Mort) and the internal reviewers.

 

This position will be responsible for preparing GIA binders and agenda for the ARC meetings and submit to the Board Coordinator.

 

Key responsibilities:

 

GIA Initiatives:

 

  • Ensure that the tools used to assess the risks of different areas of audit are kept current by coordinating with the subject matter experts.
  • Make recommendations to improve the assessment tool based on feedback, changes in data requirements, etc.

 

Audit Plan:

 

  • Develop, communicate and maintain/manage an annual audit plan and allocate necessary resources.
  • Communicate the plan to the National Directors, Regional Leaders, Support Offices and other Organizational Leaders.
  • Manage changes to the audit plan with stakeholders.

 

Audit Reports:

 

  • Coordinate with the lead auditors and the reviewers of the audit report to ensure timely issuance of the audit reports.

 

Management Information:

 

  • Prepare monthly reports on the audit progress and report issuance to the Audit Leadership.
  • Prepare binders and agenda for the Board.

 

Administration:

 

  • Collaborate with other departments on admin matters as needed.
  • Support on-boarding of new staff.
  • Manage assets provided to staff to perform their work.
  • Any other admin matters as needed.

 

Knowledge, skills & abilities:

 

Required:

 

  • 4-6 years of coordination and planning experience.
  • Proficiency in Lotus Notes and MS Office – Excel and Powerpoint.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or related field.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong team player.
  • Experience working with other cultures.
  • Good teamwork and communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Effective in written and verbal communication in English.

 

Preferred:

 

  • Ability to manage multiple demands and priorities.
  • Experience working in an audit environment.
  • Strong relational skills.
  • Strong time management skills.

 

Work Environment:

 

  • The position requires ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 10% of the time.
