Job Description:

You will have an important role in the accounting team, where you will be expected to have a hands-on role in preparing and posting month end journals and balance sheet reconciliations for a number of accounts including: VAT, Fixed Assets and Payroll.

You will also be involved in assisting in the preparation of the annual financial accounts which includes control of the balance sheet accounts, their timely and accurate reconciliations and performing various supporting calculations, schedule preparation, etc. Additionally, you will be responsible for preparing the tax returns and carrying out other tasks and reporting activities upon request.

In this role you will work closely with the Senior Financial Accountant in the implementation of projects within Finance and in responding to various requests from management and senior scientific staff.

The post holder will report directly to the Senior Financial Accountant and will work with the Accounting, Purchasing and Scientific groups as well as external contacts: vendors, debtors and etc.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should have a recognised qualification in accounting and 3-4 years work experience in the field. You possess a hands-on mentality, a highly analytical and structured way of working and logical thinking skills. Experience with modern ERP systems is a pre-requisite, preferably the SAP FI and CO modules and a high skill set in all MS-Office programs, especially Excel and Word. Knowledge of SAP Business Warehouse/Business Objects will be an advantage. Fluency in English is essential, German and/or French are an advantage.
